Research Work - Karnak
Information
The Karnak temple complex, universally known only as Karnak, describes a vast conglomeration of ruined temples, chapels, pylons and other buildings. It is located near Luxor in Egypt.
This was ancient Egyptian Ipet-isut ("The Most Selected of Places"), the main place of worship of the Theban Triad with Amun as its head, in the monumental city of Thebes. The complex retrieves its current name from the nearby and partly surrounding modern village of el-Karnak, some 2.5km north of Luxor.
Personal Comment
Egyptlogy is something I think most people find interesting, and within that interest the mystery of the Ancient Egyptian beliefs and rituals is even more interesting. Karnak is a temple situated along the Nile River in Egypt. I have never had the plasure of entering this magnificent structure, but from what a friend has explained to me through his photos the endless roaws of massive columns, covered in hiroglyphs, telling stories of ancient times, the paint still there on the walls is something that never leaves the memory. All this centralised by a "never-drying" dam in the middle tops it of, as the idea of a dam out in the middle of the desert that has not been dry for thousands of years is not completely comprehensible to me. The mind can only imagine the wonders that occured in this magestic location since the day it was erected.
Research Work - Machu Picchu
Information
Machu Picchu (Quechua: Machu Pikchu, "Old Peak", pronounced [ˈmɑtʃu ˈpiktʃu]) is a pre-Columbian Inca site located 2,430 metres (8,000 ft) above sea level[1]. It is situated on a mountain ridge above the Urubamba Valley in Peru, which is 80 kilometres (50 mi) northwest of Cuzco and through which the Urubamba River flows. Often referred to as "The Lost City of the Incas", Machu Picchu is one of the most familiar symbols of the Inca Empire.
The Incas started building it around AD 1430 but was abandoned as an official site for the Inca rulers a hundred years later at the time of the Spanish conquest of the Inca Empire.
Personal Comment
I like Machu Picchu because it is an ancient city built in the mountains of Peru. For me that is amazing because the inhabitants captured the environment around it. The rock materials used give he impression that the buildings emerged from the land, rather than being built by humans. The layout is extremely flowing and imitates he rolling hill upon which is is located. The sheer magnitude of such an incredible man-made city and yet so emersed in it's environment continues to inspire me. Ancient architecture, for me, is most amazing as it is often the product of a design and create process so distant in the minds of people today.

ABOVE 3/4 PERSPECTIVE
The Lilipod's dwelling is a rock created structure positioned near the surface of the water, where it is able to float right beneath patches of lilipads. this allows it to be well hidden in it's environment from the areas above the lagoon.
It provides cover from overhead predators, and a space within the water in which the creatures can congregate.

More refined Ideas for House design
This idea has been narrowed down to whether or not the tree should be magically controlled or mechanical. I'm leaning towards magical, because of the characteristic worship of the sun and moon by the inhabitants. There is a more magestic feel to the lifestyle, and I feel it should therefore be able to move around by itself as a separate entity in the forest.

Lilipod
Youtube video
This water creature lives in small family groups, among the lilpads of ponds and lakes. Their submerged dwellings are well disguised among various flora, and compliment their array of natural camouflage. They enjoy eating small fish and amphibians that find their way around the shallow depths of the water. Their playful nature shows them swimming around a lot, outside fo their dwelling, and thus having not much use for a very complicated living quarters.
Grass Nymph
Youtube video
This crature lives in household gardens, where it enjoys absorbing the energy of the sun and moon whenever possible. It buries the most part of its body beneath the soil while allowing it's antenna to stick out the ground. When not lapping up the light, it feeds off small roots and berries. Creating its dwelling in the trunk of small bushes, it lives in small groups harmoniously with the garden.
